Business Thank You Cards

Investing in business cards is a necessary action for any small business. You should always have plenty of business cards on hand to hand out to anyone you meet who could be a prospective customer or associate. Still, the way that your business card is designed is just as important as how many you print. Here are some tips for making powerful business cards.

Make Your Company Stand Out

By this, I mean make your company name easily visible on the front of the card. Usually, people make their personal name and contact info the most prominent items, but that is not always a good idea. Try making your company name stand out more, and see what happens. Or, you can include a slogan or something that pulls the customer in, rather than using any name at all.

Use the Space Wisely
Although you certainly need to include contact information on your business cards, be careful not to overdo it. Usually, your number and email address will suffice. Including all of your numbers and your home address and your fax number will take up a lot of valuable space that could be better used in other ways. Keep your contact info to the bare minimum, and use the rest of the card for more important things. The extra space can be filled with information about your company that makes it stand out from its competitors.

Throw in Some Color
When you turn in your business card printing project to get produced, ask for your printer's full color rates. Adding color to your business cards is a tremendous way to add some power to them. And, you may be pleasantly surprised at how affordable it can be to print full color business cards.

Double Your Return
Most business cards have nothing on the back of them. There is no reason why you shouldn't use the back of your business cards to include more advertising information. Or, if you absolutely must include more contact info, use the back of the card. You can even add a special offer to this often forgotten space, or some background information about your company. The possibilities are endless!

Take the Time to do it Right
Do not rush when you are designing your business cards. In many cases, your business card will be the only way that a prospective customer will know about your company. Take the time to design your card effectively and strategically. These little cards can do wonders for your bottom line if they are designed properly and used correctly. Think of it this way: every minute spent designing your business cards could be an extra dollar in your bank account.

Marketing is an essential part of building your business to a higher level, and one of the most effective ways to do that is by using business brochures. That doesn’t mean one should limit their advertising campaign to an investment in brochure printing, but it certainly an effective means of communication. On the other hand, do not let brochures or even postcard marketing replace personal contact especially if you are attempting to make contact for the first time.

There are many other things a business can do above and beyond the distribution of business brochures in order to increase sales. In fact you can save money by choosing to advertise online instead of paying for brochure printing and postcard marketing. If you have a website you can use that to market your business by including the URL in your emails, correspondence, on your invoices, and on your business cards. Letting people know of your online visibility is one of the easiest ways to bring in customers, and if your website is highly visible it won’t take much for you to increase sales.

Offering your customers a variety of payment options is another way you can increase sales. Instead of just offering terms of Net 30 or Net 10, customize your payment plans to accommodate a wider variety of customers including those who choose to pay with a credit card. The more payment options you offer your customers the more new customers you will attract. Adding additional payment options may also increase the amount of business you conduct with your existing customers.

In your marketing and advertising campaigns it’s important to make sure you provide enough product information to attract new customers. You have to remember that most of the customers you contact will already be buying the products you have to sell from someone else. What you need to do is provide them with enough information in your brochures and other informational packets that shows them why they should buy that product from you instead of staying with the vendor they currently use. That issue may be price, payment options, availability, turn around time, or even quality of the customer service.

Do not limit your marketing tactics to any one style. There are plenty of options for online and offline marketing, and you should use as many of them as possible to get your products before the public. Certainly you want to choose those that work best but do not discount anything until you have tried it. If you have an advertising budget, make the most of the funds by looking for low-cost methods to do the exact same thing. The more money you can save on advertising the more profit you will show.

Color Business Cards

In actuality, business cards can be a lot more diverse than you might think. A lot of people don’t realize how many different ways business cards can be utilized to market their brand because they're stuck with the conception of what a standard business card is.

Have you ever gotten a punch card for someplace where they punch off a number each time you shop there until you get something for free? This is an example of a unique business card. I didn’t realize these could be considered business cards at first because I just wasn’t connecting the dots.

The great thing about the punch card system is that you can hand it to a person, they can easily carry it in their pocket, and it encourages them to continue shopping at your store. It is also an example of effective business card marketing. After all, that punch card has the companies name prominently displayed on it as a constant reminder to the person to come in and shop. They’re carrying around that company name in their wallet everyday.

While this is one unique use of business cards it certainly isn’t the only. You can use a business card as a small coupon or other kind of discount card. The greatest strength of the business card is that most wallets are designed to easily carry them. Unlike coupons you have to clip out of newspapers, or flyers which have to be folded up, a business card can conveniently be slipped into a pocket the second you hand it to a person.

This is why having business cards double as discounts or coupons is a great way of ensuring the person will keep it with them.

Different kinds of businesses are going to be able to find different uses for them. Why not have stacks of business cards printed out with a greetings message on it you can place on your desk for whenever someone comes to see you? Or maybe have a thank you card with your company name and contact information on it?

For those with a lot of different services, print off business cards that list all of the services you have. Handing them a list like this increases the odds of getting a sale because they know everything you can do.

It isn’t hard to carry around a stack of business cards with you at all times, and business card printing isn’t very expensive. Get unique, think of different ways you can utilize your business cards to draw in more prospects. You can have more than just a name on your cards. Make sure that whatever you hand a person, it’s distinctive enough that they’ll be glad to keep it with them.

Unique Business Cards

Positioning can be a potent marketing tool. Positioning is a consumer’s opinion of your product or service compared to your competition’s product or service. And you have the power to influence the consumer’s opinion of your product and your competitors’ product. By marketing to a target audience with an effective message, you can make their opinions about your product favorable and their opinions about your competitors’ product unfavorable.

Use the following tips to evaluate your marketing materials – everything from your brochures to your custom business cards – to see if you can improve your positioning technique.

1. Be specific in your message. This means you need to pick out a few of your product’s top benefits and use those over and over again to tout your product.

To be as specific as possible, you need to know who your target market is. If you own a business card printing company, then your target will be professionals who need business cards. But you can narrow that down even more: Do you cater to professionals in certain industries? Do you offer online business card printing services for those across the country?

If you think you can reach more consumers and clients by keeping your message broad, you’ll actually get no one’s attention. If your marketing materials are too broad, no one will say “Hey this company is talking to me” so no one will pay attention.

You also need to be specific about how your product will benefit the consumer. If you don’t tell them, they’ll move on to another company, which will tell them and not make them infer their marketing message. You can have a different set of specific benefits for each target market – you’ll just need a new set of marketing materials for each target market. But think how effective your custom business cards will be when your prospect sees your list of benefits on the back that solves his specific problem!

2. Use clear language in your marketing materials. Prospects won’t take the time or energy to decipher your jargon-filled copy to learn how your product can help them. Although industry lingo and acronyms may seem impressive, really they just alienate or confuse most people. Unless you are marketing to a very specific audience, such as doctors, don’t use jargon.

3. Don’t only rely on positioning. If your product isn’t very good, it doesn’t matter what kind of positioning techniques you use, once people actually try your product, your positioning won’t be as good as your competitors that have better products. This means don’t over promise and under deliver. Let’s go back to the business card printing company. If your company can’t deliver business cards as quickly as an online business card printing company, and you say it does and fail to deliver that promise, you’re going to lose customers – current and potential customers. Current customers will tell potential customers not to do business with you and then you’ll lose sales before you even had a fighting chance with those prospects. Don’t take this risk!

If you find that as you’re writing your marketing materials you have to exaggerate your benefits, ask yourself if your product is the best it can be. Take the time to revise your product because no amount of positioning will make it better. If anything your situation will be worse once people find out you didn’t deliver on your promise.

When done correctly, product positioning can increase sales and can increase your satisfied customer base. Just be sure that you clearly state your benefits and that you can deliver what you promise.

Create Free Business Cards

Giving business cards is an art, not only because they are needed to be considered successful or because, in fact, they represent your corporate or professional identity, but also as an opportunity to impact your existing or prospective customers, and stay in touch with them, helping you to deal confidently.

The scope of business etiquette includes considerations that many professional ignore, or simply do not pay enough attention in the belief that a business card is just a small paper rectangle with a name and phone numbers to introduce yourself.

Color business cards demonstrate that there is something else beyond a simple paper cut; otherwise, they simply would not exist. Certainly, all over the world business cards are used to provide information about a company and/or the employee or professional who holds it, as well as contact information and other details such as business acquaintances or personal details.

Some of them include expressly empty spaces to write certain details such as an appointment date, some others are as simple as blank cards that come in handy when the holder has to leave a customer further details. However, those in color are undoubtedly part of a practical business strategy following refined business etiquette.

In business, time is gold and every minute is important because more often an individual only has a few minutes to impress a prospective client, before someone else does it first. Gentle manners can conquer, but accompanied with poor business cards, it is more likely the client will forget about you as soon as you live. Unprofessional business cards will not impress but will leave your prospective client with negative thoughts about your company.

On the other hand, color business cards are as attractive that catch the eye of even the most skeptical business contact. There is nothing more accurate that "a picture is worth a thousand words" when it comes to describing the first impression left on a person who receives a business card especially crafted to achieve a predefined business goal.

Color business cards and regular business cards should meet the criteria of being printed in very high quality paper, designed by professionals and never using public domain graphics or other elements that makes them look cheap. Make sure to include all personal information to your business acquaintances, and always carry enough of them with you, particularly when you are planning to attend a business meeting or social event.

The art of business cards is not only in giving them away, but also exchanging and receiving. Every time you attend an event where other professionals participate, try to exchange business cards with them, particularly color business cards to better impress, and when you receive a business card, study its design and content because you can learn from them.

Finally, always keep in mind that business cards are the branding tool of your company, not just a piece of paper to stay in touch with someone else.

Century 21 Business Cards

This idea I came across made me laugh when I first saw it, but the more I thought about it, it totally made sense!

Before I share what I've found (you'll like it), I justed wanted to let you know about the most powerful 'basic' tactic I have learn't to maximise business cards. Make sure you view your card as a mini billboard! To many business owners put their name at the top of the card...who cares about your name! The reader wants to know what's in it for them...why should they be interested in any other wording on your business card? Give them a reason ... NOT "J.Smith" or "John's Plumbing"... Put something like "Plumbing - We arrive to quote on time, or we'll pay you $50".
Now that shows confidence and certainly...which is exactly what the everyday consumer loves! This made a BIG difference in my business, because I found that people where happy to pass my card around because they felt 'confident' in recommending me...I put my money where my mouth is, and it works a treat! Anyways, back to my little discovery...

Imagine having your own silent salesman that was handing out your business cards for you 24/7 to your target audience! I didn't think this would be possible, but I found a way that I would like to share with you.

It's been reported that business cards are very under-utilized' buy most business owners in general. If you have a few hundred business cards lying around the house and office doing nothingso why not use them!

We recently read about how you can do something' with these business cards. An innovative company that we discovered has taken business card advertising to a whole new level. It's quite clever, and almost every business owner would be interested in this.

I've often thought about having a teenager that's really pretty, walk around in high traffic areas handing out my business cards and giving a quick sales pitch' then moving on. Most University students would do this for a few extra dollars. I continued my research and discovered business card dispenser vending machines. Yep, that's right! Who the hell thought of this!

You can now have your business cards handed out through a vending machines. This is a clever idea, because your business card is getting handed out...right into the peoples purses, wallets and pockets of people who will need your service. I use this service and it's great.

So this is another clever marketing idea that you should all know about. I've put the website that I found down below for you to see what I meanmaybe you'll see them around one day. Just check into the pricing in your local area...and certianly factor it into your next marketing budget.

I hope this helps to expand your mind to new ways to do something with all those old business card hanging around, it certainly did for me. They call them business card displays, and also business card dispensers.

Business Cards Printing

Without a plan to distribute your cards, there's no need to print them in the first place.

Don't fall into the trap of believing all the thinking about business cards is over once the order is placed. Wrong! The average person has more than half of their business cards still in the box at any given time. Make a plan to empty your box of cards in 3 months or less; after all, those little cards are your most powerful marketing tool.

Always carry your cards with you. You never know when you may have an opportunity to start a business relationship. Always have one handy. "Let's see, I've got one here somewhere, no, that's a card I got yesterday, no, that's my kid's picture, here it is, no, that's not it either.."

Don't carry worn and wrinkled cards. Keep them fresh and flat. If they look less than perfect, pitch 'em. You should be able to quickly draw your card faster than an old west gunfighter on TV. If somebody gives you their business card, you should give them yours in return, face up.

Think of your card as a miniature billboard working for you. Leave it everywhere. More ad exposure leads to more business. If you designed your card well, your home address is not on it so you can leave it anywhere without fear a burglar will come visiting.

Many stores, banks and restaurants have bulletin boards. Keep a few push pins in your car. Always drop your card in the fishbowls offering a prize. Enclose a card with every check you send to pay bills.

Leave one on the table with your tip (as long as the tip is not embarrassing). Give one to friends. "Do you have my new card?" Keep a supply in a cardholder on your desk or at the front counter.

Ask your spouse to always carry your cards, ready to deliver should they meet someone who might be interested in your product or service. Keep spare cards everywhere so you never have to grope for one, or worse yet, not find one and end up scribbling your name on the back of someone else's card.

If anything on your card changes, bite the bullet, eat the expense, pitch 'em and print new ones.

Your business card is more than a reference tool, it can be your biggest marketing advantage for people to remember you and forget your competition.

Remax Business Cards

Every company is going to need them.

You’re going to have your best and most loyal customers. Recognizing who they are in order to get them to keep coming back is important, but it’s also important to know why they’re so loyal to begin with.

You need to get your customer base to keep growing. If loyal customers are going to be the strongest base, figure out the best way to make that base as big as possible.

Something I’ve always found particularly important about a business is the kind of environment they set up. Good deals are always appreciated, sure, but I have to actually like the place I’m shopping at or like the person I’m doing business with for me to really care about coming back. A great deal might get me in the store, but the environment is what’s going to get me to come back again.

Little things like taking the time to print greeting cards are going to be an important part of that environment for the smaller business. Based on my own experiences I’ve found that the places that take the time and money to get greeting card printing done are the ones I’m most likely to enjoy working with.

There are a variety of reasons why this is typically the case. The first is the fact that I’m aware they put thought to what will make their office as friendly as possible. The very fact that they have chose to print greeting cards means they asked themselves how they could best appeal to the customer.

Of course, if you are going to use greeting card printing you might as well get a good-looking custom greeting card. Doing so can serve two purposes.

The first is the ability to customize your card into something that will better appeal to the industry you’re working in. Ask yourself what it is that people coming to do business with you are going to look for the most, and try to design custom greeting cards that let people know you understand their needs.

The second reason is to establish a strong personality. This goes beyond just the business to a look at who you are and what your company is like. Try to think of a design that’s unique to you alone. If I walk in and see something unusual I’m more likely to remember it months later.

The more I feel I know about a company and the more knowledgeable they appear to be the better the odds are I’ll have interest in working with them again. You can accomplish both of these goals at the same time by using greeting cards.

By getting things started on the right foot you can get everyone in a better mood. From the moment a person walks through your door to the moment they leave, you want them to be pleased. The reason that companies who use greeting card printing are going to be better at making me a loyal customer is because I know they’ve put in the effort needed to make my time with them as pleasant as possible.

Print Free Business Cards

Recently, I decided that I wanted to do a business card printing. My cards were old and, frankly, I was sick of them. I wanted some new, full color business cards that I wouldn’t get sick of looking at. And I wanted a unique design, too; something that would stand out to anyone that received one.

So I started searching around on the web. What I found was absolutely amazing. I couldn’t believe some of the business card designs that people have used. Here is a list of some of my favorites:

1. Ripped Up Hearts

In Brazil, a couples therapist had full color business cards printed up that had big red hearts on them. However, each heart had a piece of perforated paper on it that you could tear off. Underneath was a message about relationships and how the therapist could help in that area. Is that not a clever (and fitting) idea, or what?

2. Broken Bones

You know how, in the movies, debt collectors like to break bones to “motivate” debtors to pay up? Well, a debt recovery agent took that idea to the bank when he had his business card printing done. His business cards were designed as x-rays showing a broken finger. In the corner, where an x-ray would normally show the patient’s name, was the agent’s name and number.

3. Growing Plants

This idea simply blew me away. A landscape architect company designed a business card that had what looked like the blueprint to a house on the front. The blueprint had little holes all over it, surrounding the house. These holes turned out to be little pots where seeds had been planted. In time, little plants started growing out of those holes!

4. Dog Tags

The NGAP – National Greyhound Adoption Program – had some truly unique business cards made. They were made in the shape and style of dog tags, complete with the chain. Not only would their customers know what they were all about, but they could wear the cards around their neck if they chose!

5. Scratch Off Tickets

One company used a scratch off technique on their cards. On the front of the card was a feather, made out of that scratch off material that you find on lottery tickets. When you scratched off the material, the company name and info was revealed underneath.

6. Mini Maps

Another company designed their cards in the shape of a map. It actually unfolded just like a full-size map, and actually had the location information inside. Not only is this unique and eye-catching, but it helps customers find you more easily, too!

7. Lock Picking Tools

A locksmith had his cards printed up with some fully useable, pull out lock picking tools.

Personal Business Cards

When you were starting your massage business, getting your massage therapy business card printed was probably the first thing you did. After all, a business card really defines you as a business person. If you've got a card then you must have a business.

But despite all the love and attention massage therapists give their business cards, I have to say that I've never felt that they're all that useful. I've never been a big fan of business cards.

I never spent a whole lot of time, energy or money on developing cards for my massage practice. Of course, I had cards printed and they looked professional, but I never really gave them much regard. I never used them.

They sat on my shelf at work, mostly collecting dust. I certainly would never carry them with me.

I just didn't feel that they were a useful marketing tool. I knew lots of massage therapists with absolutely gorgeous business cards. But that didn't seem to prevent them from a fate of sitting in their offices twiddling their thumbs waiting for clients to come knocking. My cards were mediocre looking and largely unused and I always had a full slate of clients.

My views changed, however, after a massage business event with some key people in the massage industry.

Last year, as the Director of BodyworkBiz.com, the busiest massage website on the net, I was invited to participate in a round table discussion. The other participants were people who I would consider icons in the massage therapy industry: Cherie Sohnen-Moe, the author of Business Mastery; Steve Capellini, the respected spa massage expert and the author of Massage for Dummies; Cliff Korn, Editor of Massage Today and Monica Roseberry, author of Marketing Massage.

I felt privileged to be at the same table with these people. We each shared our thoughts about marketing and building a massage practice. Monica, in particular, seemed to be passionately attached to the idea of using business cards. Frankly, I didn't get it.

But that event made me think about business cards more. And it occurred to me that there was a good reason I didn't like massage business cards...

Most massage therapist business cards are just too darn wimpy.

You can give out lots of business cards, but for the most part they don't do a whole lot of work for you. They are completely passive tools. They certainly are not educational nor are they motivational. For all intents and purposes, they are simply scraps of paper (albeit nice scraps) with your phone number should someone be miraculously inspired to call for an appointment.

That's wimpy!

I've never been a fan of that kind of passive marketing - waiting around for someone to maybe do something someday, like pick up the phone to make an appointment.

I like direct marketing. It's a more active style of marketing. It's marketing that's designed to get people to make a decision.

If I have some contact with a potential customer, I want them to TAKE ACTION NOW.

Let's get real. No matter how well intentioned a person is, if they don't take action now, they are not likely going to get results. Let's say you want to lose weight, for example. If you don't toss the chips in the trashcan and take a walk now, it's not likely going to happen tomorrow.

Same with massage. Someone may be sore, achy, stressed, but if they don't book an appointment now or at least take a step in that direction, it's not likely going to happen.

I don't want to take a marketing approach that gives someone the opportunity to think about it later. Because we're all savvy enough to know that "later" almost always means "never".

So how do you create a massage therapy business card that makes someone want to pick up the phone and call you now?

That's what we'll look at in Part 2 of this article.

Cheap Business Cards

I've never been a big fan of business cards and in Part 1 of this series of articles I outlined why most massage therapist business cards simply were not a useful marketing tool. But I had a change of heart and in Part 2 of this series, you found out how to add a direct response element to your card to get people calling you for appointments.

Now there is one further very important element that every massage therapist business card should have. It doesn't seem like a big thing, but studies have shown that people will hang onto your business card longer and are more likely to respond...

...if you upscale your image by having them printed in full color on glossy stock.

Use full color business cards. Test after test has shown them to be worth much, much more than the extra expense to print them.

It's true that glossy full color business cards are a little more expensive than a regular card printed on ordinary paper, but the cost is inconsequential. Does it really matter if the cost goes up three or four cents per card? That's hardly going to break your bank account.

They are valuable for a number of reasons. First and foremost, they give you an almost instant boost in credibility. They do this by upscaling your business in your prospect's eyes. Let's face it - they look more professional; they look higher class.

This is particularly important in an industry like massage where we are selling an intangible service. Potential customers can kick the tires when they're checking out a new car, but they can't kick you. They have nothing to judge you on but the visual image that you present. So the materials that represent you must be of the highest quality to represent the quality of your service.

Another benefit is that people hold on to glossy full color business cards much longer on average than black and white ones - ten times as long according to one survey. I guess because they look more expensive, people are just hesitant to throw them out.

So if you're a massage therapist, business cards you create should always be full color, glossy ones and should always have a direct response element to them.

Getting the Benefits of Referrals

A referral is simply another party recommending your product or services. They can come from many parties. Those in ancillary businesses are a great source of referrals. For example, a poet would find someone in the business of printing greeting cards a great source of referrals. There are some simple steps a business owner can take to increase the amount of referral business coming into their shop.

Having a Goal Serves a Critical Role

In order for any program to be effective it must have goals and objective measurements. Simply saying that you'll try for more referrals is not a goal. You should set targets for the number of referrals and corresponding sales going out over the next year. Then work towards hitting goals. Incorporate referral goals into your employee compensation plans. This will encourage all staff to remember to ask for that referral.

Don't Forget That Current Customers Are a Good Bet

Referrals coming from existing customers are an essential source. If you provide a high level of customer service, then odds are high your customers will tell their friends. This is especially so if you indicate your desire that they do so. A simple comment saying to tell your friends can go a long way to meeting your referral goals. This should be instilled in all employees having contact with your customers at point of purchase.

Give Referrals a Lift by Sending a Gift

A small token of appreciation sent to a referring party can go a long way. This can be a gift card or even a free sample of one of your products. For example, a printer could provide some free brochure printing services for a customer who sends a large order their way. The recognition will show you appreciate the referral and most likely encourage the party to make another.

Don't Ask Yet To Those Who Are Upset

Obviously, an upset customer is not a good candidate for a referral. However, they do present an excellent opportunity for a glowing referral if you effectively fix the issue which is upsetting them. A formerly disgruntled customer who has been won over can prove to be your greatest ally. However, wait until the right time to ask for their good word.

Most sales avenues cost money. Catalog and brochure printing aren't free. However, referrals entail no associated expense. Vendors or your customers essentially act as an unpaid sale representative for your business. Provide high levels of customer service. This translates to happy customers. Happy customers then gladly make referrals to your business. Learn to leverage this phenomenon.

Business Cards : Is Your Business Card a Keeper?

First impressions are important in many arenas. First dates are a prominent example. In the business world, your first impression often is dictated by the business card you are handed. Color business cards, if not color custom business cards, are a must in today's marketing world. Take a close look at your current card. What message is it sending? If you either can't tell or don't like the answer then it is time for a new round of business card printing.

Without Quality Paper Your Card Turns To Vapor

Those electing to save a few pennies by using cheap paper often have their card quickly end up down the chute and into the incinerator. Quality paper conveys a quality company. Flimsy paper or perforated edges on your business card is like holes on the elbows of your jacket. Firm and textured paper is akin to a sharply pressed and custom fitted shirt.

Test the Ink by Using the Sink

In addition to the quality of the paper it is also important to use only the best ink. There is an easy way to see how good your ink is. Pour a small drop of water on your card. Does the ink run? If so, it is time for new custom business cards. Many cards can have a long hibernation in the drawer of the recipient prior to actually being needed. When the prospect goes to flip through the cards you don't want a faded card next to your competitor's sharp color business cards.

Without The Right Words Your Card Is For the Birds

There are obvious components of a business card. Your name is primary among them along with applicable contact information. Your company name is also obviously present. Usually a logo is on the card, and today the company's web address is also a must. However, this usually is not enough. Either through a slogan or short line of text you must effectively convey who your company is and what service or product you provide. Without this the recipient might forget who you are and be unable to decipher why he took the card in the first place. Away into the circular file it then goes. Not a good end result for your business card printing budget.

Do They Jibe With Your Company's Vibe?

Your company has an aura. Or, you could call it a style. Your business cards need to match this image. If you own an investment consulting firm, then your card must be precise and highly professional. If you own an extreme sports videography company then obviously your card will be a bit more colorful and wild.

Next time you seek business card printing keep all these considerations in mind. The wrong card can quickly quash a sale. Use custom business cards as a marketing weapon.

Business Cards : It’s in the Cards

Business cards are a staple of the modern business world in large part due to how inexpensive and versatile they are. Its important to have up to date and informative cards, but in today’s dog eat dog business world just covering the basics is no longer enough. Putting your best foot forward means putting extra effort into the image you present when meeting potential clients. With that in mind, take the following advice to heart before putting in your next business card printing order.

Don’t Go It Alone - Just because you have a printer hooked to your computer that has a business card printing feature doesn’t mean you should be making your own cards. By going with a professional printer, you will have access to higher quality paper stock and a variety of card coatings like matte and gloss. More than this, though, you’ll have professionals with ample experience on hand to assist you with your design and offer suggestions.

Color is Your Friend - Ok, this should be obvious, but I’m constantly amazed by the number of business professionals that overlook this one. Color printing simply give marketing media more appeal than their monochrome counterparts. A lack of color makes your business card seem like an afterthought and can give recipients the idea that you either lack sophistication or simply like to cut corners. The price difference between color and monochrome is minimal but the results of foregoing color aren’t nearly as inconsequential.

Make an Impression - If your business card is a no frills affair with little more than your name and number to tell people who you are, you are really missing out. Business cards don’t have to be that boring. Consider options like cards with a background image or dual sided cards with an image or logo on the reverse side to catch people’s eyes. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box, either. There are a lot of clever things you can do to stand out, like printing magnetic business cards so recipients can hang them on their refrigerator or file cabinet for quick reference later.

Your business cards are your first impression to prospective customers and clients. You should take any edge you can gain in making an impression on them. If you’ve been carrying around the same tired, dog-eared, old business cards you’ve had for the last decade, its time to update your image and really put your best foot forward.
